Dr. Sheri Adams will be escorting a group of SOD students to Italy on a mission/education trip during Spring Break.  More to follow...

Dr. Don Berry recently returned from teaching a two-week intensive course titled "Islam and Modernity" at the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary in Beirut, Lebanon.  He had students from Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, and a Palestinian refugee.  The trip included visits to two Bedouin homes, a local Imam, and with one of the students in his home in Syria.  The purpose of the trip was to respond to a need of ABTS and to gain personal experience that he can use in his classes at GWU.

Dr. Doug Dickens is serving as Interim Pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Shelby, NC.  He recently returned from some of the Asian areas affected by the tsunami.  He ministered to missionaries and others responding to the needs of these victims.

Dr. Dan Goodman has been awarded a Theological Scholars Grant jointly administered and awarded by the Lilly Foundation and the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada. Dr. Goodman's project will center on research into the history of Baptist-Jewish dialogue. Only ten of these grants are awarded, so this is a distinct honor for Dr. Goodman and Gardner-Webb University.

Dr. James Nogalski had a book review published in the April 25th edition of the Review of Biblical Literature. He reviewed the book by Adrian Schenker, Studien zu Propheten und Religionsgeschichte (Studies on the Prophets and the History of Religion).

Dr. Sophia Steibel wrote an article on "Leroy Ford: Interactive Educator" along with Dr. Daryl Eldridge for The Christian Education Journal, Fall 2003; she also completed a biographical entry on Paul Veith for the "Christian Educators of the Twentieth Century" project available at http://www.Talbot.edu/ceacademic, January 2004.

Dr. Danny West is serving as Interim Pastor of Westwood Heights Baptist Church, Shelby, NC. A series of 5 sermons are published in the 2005 Ministers Manual published by Jossey Press.

Dr. Toby Ziglar recently had the following article published: "Is Baseball an American Religion?" kn Baseball/Literature/Culture: Essays 2002/2003, ed. Peter Carino, McFarland Press, 2004.
